About the role
The Senior Accountant will support the monthly close process, account reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls. They will analyze financial results, coordinate with external auditors, and partner with various teams to improve reporting accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations over accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany accounting activities
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances and trends
- Support SOX controls testing and documentation, and maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
- Cook with external auditors and manage supporting audit documentation
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules
- Pearl closely with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, and operational teams to improve reporting accuracy
- Support accounting for power/energy-related contracts, fixed asset and infrastructure-related transactions, and restricted cash/escrow arrangements
- Support systems optimization, automation initiatives, and ERP enhancement projects
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public company and/or multi-entity environments
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Blackline, Workiva, NetSuite)
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA
- Experience in audit or financial analysis
- Knowledge of tax regulations and corporate compliance
- Experience with ERP system implementations or upgrades

$80,000 - $100,000 annually
