Key Responsibilities
- Manage federal grant accounting activities, including contract review, reconciliations, journal entries, purchase orders, budget transfers, and compliance reporting
- Partner with financial aid and grant teams to ensure expenditures and reporting align with federal and regulatory guidelines
- Oversee capital asset accounting, including construction-related assets, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation
- Review and approve financial entries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on audits, reporting requirements, and cross-functional communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 2–4 years of grants or government accounting experience; higher-ed environment strongly preferred
- Experience with capital asset accounting and PeopleSoft; prior supervisory experience overseeing multiple staff members required
