Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulations
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, student accounts, and fixed assets
• Record and maintain accurate general ledger entries and supporting documentation
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Support endowment and fund accounting activities
• Auxiliary with internal and external financial reporting
• Participate in the annual audit process and respond to auditor requests
• Collaborate with colleagues to support financial operations and process improvements
• Aid with special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Five or more years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, or endowment/fund accounting is a plus
