Responsibilities
- Analyze, explain, and process improvements within Accounting and Finance functions.
- Create, analyze, and interpret reporting for functional responsibilities.
- Lead complex projects, process development, training, and team development.
- Proactively evaluate process improvements and efficiencies throughout the department.
- Prepare Journal Entries (JEs).
- Assist with month-end analysis, review, and reporting.
- Oversee, support, and/or back up administrative functions as needed, including:
- Front desk and phones
- Scanning and tracking driver logs
- Administering driver bags (documentation, keys, checks, etc.)
- Scheduling maintenance
- Ordering and monitoring supplies
- Meet with departments, managers, and leadership to discuss, interpret, and gather information for duties.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting deadlines.
- Assist with the review of P&L, balance sheets, and other financial reports throughout the month.
- Work with management to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance for functions within scope.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3–5 years of General Ledger and Financial Accounting experience.
- Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s/MBA or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- 4+ years of Financial Accounting or Operations Accounting experience (preferably in a food distribution environment).
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
Schedule
4 days a week in office.
Pay
Base salary plus bonus.
