About the role
The mission of this position is to assist the team in developing best-in-class processes within a control-oriented environment. The candidate will perform duties involving research, analysis, verification, and reconciliation of transactions.
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, verify, and reconcile transactions.
- Post customer credits per Senior Accountant instructions.
- Perform various aspects of the month-end closing process including journal entry preparation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to Accounts Receivable and other GL accounts as assigned.
- Absorb and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to an accounting function.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of GAAP principles, accounting transactions, schedules, and financial reports.
- Experience working with multiple business units or shared services (a plus).
- Motivated self-starter who performs assigned duties accurately, efficiently, and diligently.
- Excellent analytical, written/ oral communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in performing duties within complex operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain fixed asset schedule as well as post any related depreciation entries.
- Perform various aspect of the month-end closing process including journal entry preparation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to Accounts Receivable and other GL accounts as assigned.
- Absorb and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to an accounting function.
Skills and Performance Criteria
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including V-lookups and Pivot Tables.
- Strong aptitude and working knowledge of automated financial information systems with SAP (a plus).
- Working knowledge of GAAP principles, accounting transactions, schedules, and financial reports.
- Experience working with multiple business units or shared services (a plus).
- Motivated self-starter who performs assigned duties accurately, efficiently, and diligently.
- Excellent Analytical, written/ oral communications, and interpersonal skills and a positive approach toward customers and company employees.
- Assist with designing solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team.
- Assists the Senior Accountants as needed.
