About the role

The senior accountant position is responsible for in-depth analysis and recording of accounting topics that require experience and knowledge to find solutions and ensure the integrity of the financial records. This role will primarily concentrate on the Direct To Consumer (DTC) business within the US operations. Furthermore, this role will act as an interlink between our GBS teams globally along with various business & finance functions in the US.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close.
  • Aid in the preparation of external audit requests and annual internal tax package reporting.
  • Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations with analysis to ensure the Company’s financial records are accurate.
  • Provide accounting perspective and assistance on IT/Business development projects.
  • Identify, implement, and/or support process improvements in the role’s areas of responsibility, as well as those on the team level.
  • Collaborate with Global Business Shared Services and Local Accounting on ad hoc accounting projects as required.
  • Develop process guides for defined areas to ensure standardized execution of tasks.
  • Provide accounting expertise and support to other business & finance functions here in the US.
  • Support the sales and margin area on ad hoc projects and requests.
  • Support the Direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales and margin area and support business partners and GBS.
  • Support the Direct-to-consumer (DTC) inventory area on ad hoc project and requests.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to deal with ambiguity in an ever-changing environment while maintaining a positive attitude and working collaboratively within the team.
  • Must be deadline driven, results-oriented, highly responsible and accountable, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be extremely proactive, have strong initiative and be self-motivated. High integrity, ethics and strong values; excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation, and a high degree of accuracy are all essential.
  • Good problem-solving skills; strong decision-making skills; innovative use of IT tools and new technology; and good time management and priority setting skills required.
  • Must have strong accounting and analytical skills.

Requisite education and experience / minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years’ experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Familiarity with SAP and other relevant Adidas Accounting systems preferred
