About the role
The Senior Accountant, Accounts Receivable, supports Aramark's Global Business Services (GBS) organization by performing accounting, reconciliation, and reporting activities related to accounts receivable. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of AR financial records through account analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant partners with Shared Services Operations, General Ledger Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and business stakeholders to support timely financial close activities, accurate reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, account adjustments, credit/debit memos, and variance analyses.
- Perform AR subledger-to-general ledger reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Analyze AR balances, aging, deductions, unapplied cash, reserves, and related accounts.
- Prepare and distribute standard AR reports and reporting packages.
- Partner with General Ledger and Corporate Accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Execute and document key controls to maintain compliance with company policies and financial reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
- Maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, standardization, and controls.
- Participate in special projects and system enhancement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on accounting, finance, or shared-services leadership experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
- 3–5+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in Accounts Receivable.
- Shared Services experience preferred.
- Experience with account reconciliations, internal controls, and month-end close activities.
Skills
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable accounting and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of AR aging, bad debt reserves, DSO, and related AR metrics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite or similar ERP systems.
- Experience with BlackLine and reporting tools preferred.
