Senior Accountant (1099 Contractor, Part-Time)

The Role

Cerebral is seeking a 1099 contract Senior Accountant to support their accounting team in a part-time capacity. This role will play a key role in the finance organization around the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, owning select account reconciliations, and assisting in financial reporting.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA preferred
• 3+ years of in-house experience within a similar industry or 3+ years of experience within a big four accounting firm
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; experienced at creating journal entries and reconciling complex accounts
• Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work autonomously
• Able to meet a stream of constant deadlines and prioritize work
• Proven success in working both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
• High integrity, self-aware, and humble

Work with the Accounting Manager to facilitate the monthly close process on an end-to-end basis, ensuring the quality and timeliness of close by:

• Preparing journal entries
• Reconciling accounts and proposing adjusting entries
• Preparing or assisting with financial reporting
• Analyze complex account activity and processes and make recommendations for improvements to simplify and streamline operations
• Maintain a fixed asset register
• Assist the Accounting Manager in building out new processes and structure addressing and improving the month-end close process, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Create detailed process documentation, ensuring accounting implications of processes are clearly understood
• Answer questions from other departments by researching account activity
• Various special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned
