Responsibilities
- Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates.
- Maintains overall responsibility for the entire renewal process, including policy review, setting the game plan, loss analysis, program design, data completeness within AMS, and resolving coverage and premium discrepancy issues for all existing accounts.
- Supports winning new business and the setup of new accounts.
- Maintains intimate knowledge of clients' business operations, strategies, and needs throughout the year.
- Kicks off the client renewal process by creating the Game Plan, completing a coverage analysis (if applicable), and conducting a thorough review of the policy and all relevant documents.
- Prepares for and facilitates meetings with key IMA stakeholders and clients.
- Crafts marketing strategies, reviews submissions, and engages in negotiations with underwriters to determine relevant content for proposals.
- Pursues mastery of the craft through ongoing education and awareness of industry trends, products, and services.
- Develops and maintains carrier relationships.
- Manages a book of business exceeding $1.3 million in revenue, with specific distribution requirements:
- Less than 10% of book of business revenue within the Emerging market.
- Less than 40% of book of business revenue within the middle market, independent of additional Account Executive oversight.
- 50% or more of book of business focused on large/complex accounts.
- Plays a lead role with large/complex accounts based on primary industry levels.
- Spends 10% or more of time supporting producers in winning new business.
- Identifies client priorities, creates a vision for their insurance program aligned with risk management goals, and understands the client’s business philosophy.
- Structures strong, long-term partnerships with assigned clients.
- Provides client team management and coaching for Level 2 Account Executives.
- Offers internal team management and coaching for Level 2 Account Executives.
- Strengthens the IMA brand as a subject matter expert (e.g., speaking at conferences, publishing white papers, building carrier relationships).
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in insurance or a related industry based on the assigned book of business.
- Ability to think strategically based on client priorities and marketplace cycles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading and developing people.
- Ability to delegate and hold teams and partners accountable.
- Experience working within Applied Epic preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office products (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Travel required (up to 40% based on client book of business).
- Skilled at understanding the client’s entire business as it relates to insurance protection, matching terms and conditions to their risk aversion level.
- Holds a general insurance designation.
- Holds a formal specialty designation (e.g., ARM, CPCU, or industry-specific designation).
Pay
Salary Range: $100,000 USD - $200,000 USD
