Senior Account Executive, Digital Advertising
About the role
The Senior Account Executive, Digital Advertising owns a strategic book of paid digital advertising business across DTMG properties, with primary focus on Digital Trends, The Manual, and 21 Oak, and carries a senior quota across direct brand teams, agency teams, and holding company buying groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess a pipeline of enterprise logos and expand strategic accounts through integrated and branded program pursuits, typically with campaign sizes from $100,000 to $1,000,000 and above.
- Lead discovery, qualification, and needs assessment on every active opportunity; document goals, KPIs, budget, and decision process before building a proposal.
- Pitch DTMG's full media solution set across content, display, video, branded content, social, and programmatic, tailored to the client's brand, audience, and KPIs.
- Partner with Content, Ad Ops, Audience Development, Account Management, Affiliate, and Data to build proposals, IOs, and media plans, and partner with the Head of Account Management on custom branded and integrated program pursuits.
- Negotiate, close, and protect margin while hitting senior weekly, monthly, and quarterly quota; own renewals and upsells on strategic accounts.
- Build a book of accounts for long-term and repeat business; maintain CRM hygiene and accurate forecasting.
- Own brief quality on the front end of the campaign hand-off into Ad Ops and Editorial.
- Co-pitch with peers in the pod, model outbound behaviors, and reinforce the sales playbook in peer coaching moments.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of digital media, advertising, or media sales experience, with a documented track record closing six figure integrated or branded programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build a pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, and relationship development.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder maps, including direct brand teams, agency teams, and holding company buying groups.
- Strong discovery, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Comfort using a CRM (Pipedrive preferred) for pipeline management and forecasting.
- Comfort operating in a operating system-based environment with weekly meeting cadence and scorecard accountability.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $110,000 to $130,000 annually. Final offer will reflect the candidate's experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. Additional Compensation: Quota-based commission plan with on target earnings of $200,000 and above, plus an override bonus for pod management.
