About the Role
The Senior Account Executive takes a leadership role in driving strategic growth, fostering essential relationships, and launching new products while overseeing a team of Account Executives. This position requires a strong strategic mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to guide the team toward achieving ambitious goals.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Market Growth: Develop and execute high-level strategies to achieve significant market share growth in alignment with the company's objectives. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to identify opportunities and gaps. Collaborate with executive leadership to define long-term market expansion strategies.
- Value Proposition Leadership: Lead the articulation and communication of the company's unique value proposition to clients, differentiating it from competitors. Oversee the development of compelling presentations and proposals that resonate with key stakeholders. Ensure consistent messaging across the team's communications and presentations.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners at the senior management level. Collaborate with the team to prioritize relationships that have the highest strategic impact on the business. Guide the team in delivering exceptional customer experiences and tailored solutions.
- Product Strategy and Launch: Provide strategic direction for the successful launch of new products, aligning with the company's vision and market demand. Oversee the team's efforts to educate and excite clients about new product offerings as first adopters. Guide the development of comprehensive launch plans and ensure seamless execution.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Account Executives, fostering their professional growth and development. Set clear expectations, assign responsibilities, and provide guidance to ensure team success. Collaborate with other senior leaders to drive a cohesive and aligned approach across the organization.
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute strategic account plans for high-value clients, focusing on growth strategies and relationship expansion. Monitor team progress and provide strategic guidance to ensure account plans are effectively executed.
- Sales Pipeline Strategy: Drive the development of a strategic and predictable sales pipeline, incorporating advanced strategies to maximize revenue generation. Oversee the team's efforts to onboard VMI customers into the inside sales program.
- Performance Analytics and Reporting: Analyze team performance metrics and market data to provide strategic insights and recommendations. Provide regular performance reports to executive leadership, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and execution of initiatives.
- Innovation and Continuous Learning: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, innovations, and emerging opportunities. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to junior account executives to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives. Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic in all interactions. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in sales or account management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse sales team.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Work Environment
Essential functions require working in an office setting. The employee must possess the ability to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours a workday.
