About the role
Bodewell Group is seeking a full-time, Senior Account Executive, to join our San Diego team. The Senior Account Executive is responsible for executing senior management and client vision including drafting communications and building relationships with key audiences; assists in business development by seeking new relationships for possible business opportunities. We are seeking an individual who is ready to support unique communications needs by developing tailored strategies and tactics that get results. We want strong writers and researchers – those who enjoy jumping in and learning everything they can about a client or project.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the planning, development, and execution of public relations, communications, and marketing initiatives across various projects, including large, complex transportation programs.
- Support communications and stakeholder outreach for major transportation programs, ensuring consistent, clear, and timely messaging across all public-facing channels.
- Closely coordinate with engineering, planning, and construction teams to translate project information, milestones, and public-facing impacts (such as closures and traffic detours) into clear and accessible communications materials.
- Conduct client research, track media coverage, and monitor social media activity.
- Develop and implement social media campaigns, including content creation and calendar management.
- Create high-quality internal and external communications materials such as fact sheets, client presentations, news releases, e-blasts, messaging platforms, flyers, signage, and other client deliverables.
- Design and execute engagement strategies, including in-person and digital public outreach, briefings, presentations, signage, and related materials.
- Manage development of collateral materials, including content creation, coordination with graphic design, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Plan, execute, and support client events, including community meetings, open houses, milestone celebrations, and other public engagement activities.
- Represent clients at events as needed, including staffing booths, open houses, and community engagement events.
- Seek business development opportunities by attending networking and community events, participating in professional associations, and engaging with government and business contacts.
- Provide guidance to and support junior staff, including interns, account coordinators, and account executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Public Administration or similar field preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in public relations or public outreach fields.
