Semi-Truck Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software
  • C Conduct repairs on brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and other vehicle systems
  • Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and federal DOT regulations
  • I Inspect and replace defective or worn parts using appropriate tools and equipment
  • O Operate hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools in a safe and efficient manner
  • C Collaborate with other technicians and communicate effectively with supervisors about repair needs and timelines
  • P Perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary
  • Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or diesel certification preferred
    • 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy truck technician
    • V Valid driver's license; CDL is a strong plus
    • Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems
    • Must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • E Exposure to loud noises, grease, diesel fumes, and heavy machinery
    • M May require working evenings, weekends, or being on-call for emergency repairs
    • P Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
