About the role
In this job, the team member will pick up and deliver commodities and products in a manner that will optimize efficiencies and result in outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations
- Ensure all paperwork is properly completed and submitted to your supervisor in a timely manner
- Ensure pickup/deliveries are performed in such a manner as to maintain good customer relations
- Comply with all federal and state Department of Transportation regulations and strive for excellent Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) scores
- Know and follow all company safety policies/procedure. Perform work in a safe manner while observing all traffic laws and all OSHA state and federal safety regulations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Report all maintenance items to supervisor
- Maintain equipment in operational and cleanly appearances at all times
- Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance
- Make decisions and follow instructions with little or no supervision
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or management
Requirements
- Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Maintain required Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification
- Be able to obtain endorsements to the CDL as necessary
- Maintain insurability requirements in accordance with property and casualty insurance guidelines
- One-year relevant experience or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Working Environment
Will be subject to outdoor temperature fluctuations, bouncing or jolting, and dust. Expected number of loads hauled per day can vary with increased number and weekend work during peak seasons.
Physical Demands
- Able to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds
- Climb ladders and steps
- Reach above, below, and at shoulder level
- Work on or with moving machinery
- Have full use of arms, hands, legs
- Have good finger dexterity
- Subject to twisting motions when cranking roll tarps/hopper bottom
- Subject to pounding motions when pounding product out of trailer
