Sell Side Research Associate, Technology
About the role
Susquehanna's Sell Side Equity Research Department is seeking a Research Associate to provide research support for the technology space in our New York office. This role will be mentored by a well-known Senior Analyst and involves performing key functions of a research analyst, including analysis of company financial statements, market research, and competitive positioning. The Associate will conduct primary market research, financial and valuation analyses, and create competitive profiles on specific companies. This position offers excellent exposure to emerging growth companies in the tech sector and provides a strong career path in sell-side equity research, asset management, and business development or corporate strategy.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary analytical support for the Senior Analyst covering the technology sector.
- Conduct proprietary research, customer/partner interviews, and industry surveys.
- Perform financial and valuation analysis by generating financial models, forecasts, and competitive profiles on companies under coverage.
- Gather and analyze data from company documents, SEC/regulatory filings (e.g., 10-Ks, 10-Qs), industry publications, trade shows, and online data services.
- Interact with company management, internal sales force, and institutional investors.
- Monitor and evaluate company news and events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of analytical work experience in fields such as finance, accounting, and/or engineering.
- Prior equity research experience (sell/buy side) is a plus.
- Knowledge of the technology sector (Hardware, Software, Internet) is a plus.
- Series 7, 63, 86, and/or 87 licenses are a plus but not required.
- Passion for the markets and a career in equity research, demonstrated through prior projects or work experience.
- Excellent research, writing, communication, and organizational skills; must be detail-oriented.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Independent thinker and self-starter with motivation to learn and excel in a dynamic industry.
- Will not require sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future.
Pay
The annual base pay range for this role is $115,000–$140,000, plus a discretionary bonus and benefits. Susquehanna considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education/training, key skills, and market/organizational considerations when extending an offer.
