About the role
Fond du Lac is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest satisfaction. We operate over 40 full-service supermarkets across Wisconsin. This position is located at a self-checkout register.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with friendliness and professionalism.
- Provide guidance on using self-checkout machines and assist with scanning, payment, and bagging.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Resolve basic technical issues with self-checkout machines and report malfunctions.
- Educate new users and manage traffic flow.
- Monitor transactions, assist lights, and guest behaviors for loss prevention.
- Participate in training sessions and provide feedback to improve processes.
Qualifications
- Experience as a cashier and bagger.
- Previous customer service or retail experience preferred.
- Basic technical proficiency and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and handle difficult situations effectively.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
- Ability to process information and merchandise through register systems.
- Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
- Ability to read, count, and write accurately.
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple registers at a time.
