Self-Checkout Attendant

About the role

Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest satisfaction. We operate over 40 full-service supermarkets across Wisconsin. The Self-Checkout Attendant role is crucial for ensuring a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
• Provide guidance on using self-checkout machines and assist with scanning, payment, and bagging.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues with self-checkout machines.
• Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure self-checkout stations are operational and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Educate new users and manage traffic flow.
• Monitor transactions, assistance lights, and guest behaviors to prevent theft and fraud.
• Follow store policies and procedures regarding loss prevention and asset protection.
• Collaborate with other store associates to enhance overall store operations.
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
• Provide feedback to improve self-checkout processes and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cashier and Bagger.
• Previous customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Basic technical proficiency and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and handle difficult situations effectively.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Ability to process information/merchandise through register system.
• Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately.
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple registers at a time.
