About the role
As the Seizure Monitoring Technologist, you will provide 24-hour visual monitoring and subsequent intervention when indicated for seizure patients in the Neuro ICU and EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) via a remote video system. You will maintain components of the monitoring system and communicate with staff and members of the Comprehensive Epilepsy team regarding the patient's seizure status. Baptist specializes in advanced neurodiagnostic care, offering innovative technology and services such as long-term epilepsy monitoring, intraoperative neuromonitoring, and epilepsy surgical support.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer treatment to patients of all diagnoses.
- Provide extensive patient/family education.
- Provide multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nurses, physicians, social service providers, respiratory therapists, support staff, etc.
- Participate in departmental operations and performance improvement activities.
- Responsible for remaining within budget guidelines.
- Participate in mandatory education and licensure requirements.
Requirements
- One to two years of long-term monitoring/EEG experience required.
- High school diploma required.
- Registered EEG Technologist (ABRET) required.
- Registered in Continuous Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) preferred.
