About the role

The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team. This position involves constant visual observation of patients, documenting their activities, and recognizing seizure activity.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient is on camera.
  • Document relevant information on computer and chart.
  • Use Medical Records system to verify patient history and information.
  • Communicate often with physicians, nurses and clinical staff about patient activities.
  • Maintain focus on patient movements and activities.
  • Recognize seizure activity to alert staff and activate patient event alarm.
  • Recognize, troubleshoot and alert staff to computer issues.
  • Document equipment and recording issues.
  • Communicate with patients and families.
  • Ensure patient safety protocols are being followed.
  • Sign out to next shift by communicating any issues and concerns along with updated documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Experience using computers.

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort with technology.
  • Ability to self-motivate and stay focused on task.

Pay

$19.80 - $29.70 per hour.

Schedule

Friday, Saturday and Sunday night - 6:00PM-6:30AM.
