Responsibilities
- Prepare food for various catered functions such as dinners, luncheons, banquets, and receptions.
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods including meats, fowl, seafood, soups, gravies, salads, fruits, vegetables, and desserts for small and large functions.
- Use judgment to determine food quantities and timing to ensure all items are ready for serving on schedule.
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain high standards of sanitation and customer service.
Requirements
- High school education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of food service experience, including restaurant or catering cooking experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and/or walking 85% – 100% of the shift.
- Frequent bending at the waist; able to bend below the knee.
- Twisting and bending of head and torso.
- Full range of arm movement (extension, twisting, bending of arm and shoulder, reaching overhead, wiping, etc.).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist height.
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs overhead.
- Able to lift and carry 20 – 30 lbs for distances up to 10 feet.
- Repetitive wrist movement (e.g., wiping, scrubbing).
- Frequently work in conditions of extreme heat.
- Ability to push and pull up to 250 lbs.
- Exposure to and handling of solvents, cleaning products, organic waste, and dust.
Tools/Equipment
- Operate a variety of equipment including food slicer, grill, deep fryer, convection oven, steamer, dishwasher, deck ovens, mixer, steam kettle, tilt brazier, buffalo chopper, charcoal broiler, and truck.
