About the role

The SEH-Cardiopulmonary Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Cardiopulmonary Rehab department, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols, CMS compliance, staff oversight, facility upkeep, and equipment maintenance. This role assists with budget development and is responsible for meeting or exceeding patient outcomes, satisfaction, and budgetary goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive environment that promotes health and wellness for members, guests, patients, and caregivers.
  • Manage day-to-day activities and operations of the Cardiopulmonary Department to meet or exceed patient expectations.
  • Adhere to all departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines.
  • Oversee cardiopulmonary staff, including hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, time-keeping, and disciplinary actions.
  • Gather, tabulate, evaluate, and report relevant data.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and student interns; administer annual performance reviews.
  • Educate and train clinical support staff to meet point-of-service quality goals.
  • Maintain departmental statistical reports and metrics.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and customer service; exceed patient expectations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute efforts to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement plans to meet quality and patient satisfaction goals.
  • Assist with the development of the annual budget and ensure budgetary goals are met or exceeded.
  • Review, revise, and develop departmental policies and procedures annually.
  • Assist with marketing efforts for AL!VE programs and services.
  • Establish effective communication with patients, members, guests, and caregivers.
  • Support cross-organizational efforts and attend/lead required meetings.
  • Work as part of a team to accomplish departmental, AL!VE, and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate special events and projects.
  • Support and model the organization’s mission, vision, and customer service initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • CPR/ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accrediting and regulatory standards, hospital policies, HIPAA confidentiality, and TJC mandates.
  • Knowledge of Intensive Cardiac Rehab, Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab services, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems.
  • Strong written and computer skills for effective communication and report generation.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, members, guests, and caregivers.
  • Ability to build, inspire, and motivate a team.
  • High level of organization and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to hold people accountable for completing assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist or AACVPR Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional.
  • Prior supervisor or managerial experience.

This is a full-time, days shift position at Sparrow Eaton Hospital.
