About the role

Join the Passionately Pets Team as a Midday Dog Walker or Pet Sitter! This fun and rewarding position gets you out of the office and into the fresh air, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors, get exercise, and be loved by amazing local dogs, cats, and other companion animals.

Responsibilities

• Midday Dog Walker:
  • Enter clients' homes and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 15-30 minutes each)
  • Walk pets as requested
  • Feed pets as requested
  • Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary
  • Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the absence of their owners
  • Clean any accidents or damage discovered in clients' homes
  • Communicate with Management
• Pet Sitter:
  • Work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as visits vary based on client needs
  • Enter clients' homes and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 15-30 minutes each)
  • Act as primary caregivers for pets while their owners are away
  • Walk pets as requested
  • Feed pets as requested
  • Provide appropriate litter box and/or cage clean-up as required
  • Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary
  • Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the absence of their owners
  • Clean any accidents or damage discovered in clients' homes
  • Communicate with Management

Requirements and Qualifications

• Northern VA residence within 5 miles of 22301 is preferred
• Must have your own, reliable mode of transportation
• Must have your own reliable smartphone with internet access and data plan
• Must be extremely detail-oriented
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Must be responsible, reliable, and dependable
• Must be timely and punctual
• Able to self-manage
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be compassionate about animals
• Must feel comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals
• Must be willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions
• Must be able to make at least a 6-month commitment (longer preferred)
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Pay

Compensation is $24-$28 per hour plus tips and is paid on a per-visit basis.
