SEDSS- Junior Systems Engineer **

We are seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer to support the acquisition, development, and sustainment of various aviation programs. This position requires full-time on-site presence at the NAVAIR base in PAX River, MD. The position is future funded and is not expected to begin until September 1, 2026.
Clearance
An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Candidates may be required to obtain a Top Secret clearance after beginning this work. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software requirements
- Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
- Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
- Conduct analysis of software defects
- Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts
- Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
- Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
- Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
- Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
- Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
Requirements
- At least two years experience performing software or systems engineering activities
- Knowledge of avionics systems
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with DOD-STD-2167A/MIL-STD-498/IEEE 12207
- Experience with Systems Software, Systems-of-Systems engineering, MBSE, or systems safety & reliability
- Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and software
- Experience with Agile software development processes
Education
A BS in a technical discipline from an ABET accredited program is preferred.
Compensation
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $122,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
