Technician Responsibilities
- Installation, service and maintenance of high-end access control, video management and intrusion surveillance systems.
- Installs, tests, and troubleshoots new CCTV, access control, and security systems.
- Ensures that systems are installed properly and on time in accordance with P.A.C.E.'s procedures and quality control standards.
- Provides feedback and information to identify any potential barriers to timely execution of the project, such as construction delays or changes.
- Communicates with Managers and/or Project Manager to resolve discrepancies or issues.
- Provides regular progress updates to all stakeholders.
- Provides accurate documentation for completed work.
- Maintains assigned company-owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and individual tools issued.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned tools, and test equipment.
- Communicates with customers, customer representatives, contractors, and P.A.C.E. staff as necessary to install and test equipment.
- Stays up to date and knowledgeable in P.A.C.E. services, technology as well as internal processes and procedures.
Education And Skills Required
- A high school diploma, plus vocational training or equivalent.
- A strong electrical background and knowledge of electrical materials.
- Successful experience with complex system installations.
- The ability to work independently, as well as within a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives with little supervision.
Experience
- 2+ years of successful experience installing access control, video systems or other related electronic systems.
- Understanding of job safety practices.
- Strong electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops).
- Able to use digital volt meters.
- Knowledge of door hardware, electric and mechanical locking devices and building codes.
- Mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocol and Cat5 technologies.
Skill Requirements
- SoftwareHouse, AMAG, Continental, Brivo.
- Familiarity with Matrix Switches, Multiplexers and DVR’s.
- Network video experience.
- Relay logic.
- Familiar with electric lock hardware installation and servicing.
Licensing Requirements
- Willingness to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process including a background investigation and drug screening.
- To continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Climb stairs and ladders while carrying weight.
- Use color vision to distinguish colored wires, signals, other lighting devices.
- Use and manipulate hand tools, small power tools, communication, and diagnostic devices.

Salary
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour.
