About the role
The Security Surveillance Systems Technician is primarily responsible for the installation and maintenance of campus electronic security systems, including surveillance, alarm, card access, remote key access controls, electric and traditional access hardware, and security-related software or hardware.
Responsibilities
- Design and coordinate system installations
- Manage surveillance-related work requests
- Assist and mentor other technicians
- Assign and prioritize work requests
- Collaborate with other lead technicians and the shop supervisor in support of the Life Safety shop's mission
- Design card access systems, security alarms, and hardware installations customized to customer needs and requirements
- Anticipate and proactively identify maintenance issues by analyzing system performance, past trends, and technical notes from equipment and system manufacturers
Requirements
- Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one prior to start date
- Requires an NC Locksmith License or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
