Security Supervisor - Shopping Mall

Site Location: Palo Alto, CA

About the role

What matters most in a role like this is your ability to read the environment, anticipate risk, and act accordingly. As a Security Supervisor, you will oversee the security team, manage schedules, and ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property in environments such as retail stores, airports, and detention centers. Physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the security team on your given shift
• Train new officers
• Help manage schedules to ensure zero dark posts during your shift
• Act as a liaison between staff and management, ensuring client security requirements are met
• Manage access control
• Perform regular patrols to identify potential risks
• Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
• Respond to incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
• Answer questions in person or by phone
• Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
• Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity
• Verify identities and control access to secure areas
• React quickly to threats or incidents
• Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras
• Document incidents and actions taken
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents

Requirements

• Be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 21 years old
• One year of security supervisor experience
• Active driver’s license
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
• First aid certification is an asset
• Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience is a plus

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week
Saturday - Wednesday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Pay

Competitive hourly wage of $25/hour (DailyPay available for GardaWorld employees)
