About the role
The Security Shift Supervisor at Marksman Security is responsible for overseeing daily security operations and personnel during an assigned shift. This role ensures the safety and protection of individuals, property, and assets, leading a team of security officers, monitoring security systems, and handling security issues or emergencies.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Supervise and direct security staff to ensure high performance and adherence to all site protocols.
Safety & Surveillance: Monitor the site continuously to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets.
Incident Command: Act as the lead during the initial stages of an incident, providing clear guidance and committing resources effectively.
Professional Development: Train and mentor security staff to ensure a "best-in-class" guard force through constant evaluation.
Security Operations & Team Leadership: Post Inspections & Uniform Checks, Oversight & Relief, Staff Evaluation, Radio & Tech Upkeep, Performance Management.
Incident Response & Emergency Management: Emergency Response, Reporting, Call-Off Management, Escalation.
Site Logistics & Support: Patrol Oversight, Parking Management, Auditing, Event Support.
Qualifications & Experience
Leadership & Experience: 2–3 years of experience managing a security team; prior supervision of large-scale studio accounts preferred.
Proven ability to lead a team in complex problem-solving and emergency response.
Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills.
Excellent communication and professional writing skills for revising and auditing reports.
Credentials & Education: Active BSIS California Guard Card. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Completion of all mandatory training, including EHS and HAZMAT response.
Technical & Operational Expertise
Proficiency in security systems (CCTV, Access Control) and Tracktik patrol software.
Understanding of Incident Command Systems (ICS) and site-specific ERPs.
Knowledge of SIM-T, Zinc, and ACME update protocols.
