About the role
The Security Manager ensures the highest level of service to residents, guests, staff, and service providers. They must manage the Security staff, develop and implement safety, security, and emergency plans, and respond to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Recommends and implements procedural changes
- Develops and implements safety, security, and emergency plans and programs
- Maintains a safe and secure environment
- Responds to emergency situations
- Monitors and operates Electronic Security Control Systems and Emergency Response Systems
- Trains staff on fire prevention, safety, and emergency procedures
- Manages the security budget to minimize expenses
- Maintains safety and equipment standards
- Attends regular meetings as directed by Property Manager
- Investigates, analyzes, and reports on all incidents and accidents
- Coordinates activities with local and federal law enforcement agencies
- Trains staff on radio etiquette and use, SOP's
- May be assigned other duties by the Property Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma
- CLSS (Certified Lodging Security Supervisor) program completion within 90 days of hire
- AHLA (American Hotel & Lodging Association) certification
- Valid Security D License
- Two years’ experience in managing Security department staff
- Security management experience in high-quality, luxury-oriented hotel, resort, condominium, or club
- Experience managing at least 13 people
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Multiple language fluency is desirable
Qualifications
- College level courses in business or hospitality preferred
- Ability to lift 50 – 100 lbs
- Ability to work in different environmental working conditions
- Ability to walk and climb stairs
- Ability to handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word
- Ability to navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job functions
- Ability to complete all required forms
