Security Supervisor

About the Role

This position is for a Security Supervisor overseeing a team of 5-10 personnel. The role requires coordinating and directing contracted security personnel, including training, scheduling, and discipline. Supervisors manage schedules, ensure proper coverage, and assist in emergencies or with unruly individuals in a calm and professional manner. Maintaining positive relationships with the client and their management is essential. All officers, including supervisors, must perform duties according to post orders.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED (21+ and a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder for armed security work).
• No felony convictions (per MCL 338.106010(1)(c)).
• No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information/evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two+ alcohol-related offenses.
• Must pass a drug screening (including marijuana) at hire and randomly thereafter.
• Adhere to company Uniform and Appearance policy; present a professional image.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including de-escalation.
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean record (if driving company/client vehicles or using a personal vehicle for work).
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification and administer care in emergencies.
• Able to move quickly, including running short distances, for emergency response.
• Physically and mentally sound; able to remain alert during shifts.
• Able to sit, stand, and walk long distances (including stairs) for 8-12 hour shifts.
• Able to work indoors/outdoors in all seasons.
• Able to use hands/fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and equipment.
• Able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs (70 lbs for armed officers).
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Schedule

1st shift: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. 24/7 availability required for supervisor duties. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).

Pay

$22.46/hour (set by contract, non-negotiable). Pay rates vary by contract and position.

Military veterans and individuals with firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates who do not meet the availability or experience requirements may be considered for other contracts based on qualifications.
