About the role

This full-time (40 hours per week) Security Supervisor position oversees a team of 5-10 personnel on a client contract in Saginaw, MI. The supervisor coordinates and directs security personnel, including training, scheduling, and discipline; manages schedules and assignments to ensure proper coverage; assists in emergencies or with unruly individuals; and maintains positive relationships with the client and their management. Each officer, including the supervisor, must perform duties according to post orders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage schedules and assignments for security personnel to ensure proper coverage
  • Be available to assist in emergencies or deal with unruly individuals in a calm and professional manner
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with the client and their on-site and off-site management
  • Perform duties according to post orders

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies or specified misdemeanors (dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol-related offenses)
  • Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana)
  • Must adhere to the company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and present a professional image
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including de-escalation abilities
  • Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record (if driving company/client vehicles or using your own for work)
  • Willingness to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and capable of administering care in emergencies
  • Able to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergencies
  • Physically and mentally sound, able to remain alert during shifts
  • Able to sit, stand, and walk long distances (including stairs) for 8-12 hour shifts
  • Able to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons
  • Able to use hands and fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and equipment
  • Able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs. for armed security officers)
  • Able to work independently with little or no supervision

Military veterans and individuals with firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply. Shift: 1st shift (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), Monday through Friday, with 24/7 availability required for supervisor duties.

Pay

$22.46/hour (set by contract, non-negotiable). Pay rates vary by contract and position.
