Security Specialist - Temporary/Part-time - Northern VA (VAXCOM)

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight, direction, coordination, and support as part of a mid-sized team working on a special project.
• Ensure physical and technical security related oversight and guidance to both cleared and uncleared personnel at multiple classified facilities.
• Coordinate the secure movement of equipment/materials from/to multiple locations based on IC security related regulations, policies, concepts, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Apply analytical thinking to provide input to senior facility leadership regarding best practices in a changing environment.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both cleared and uncleared, to keep them informed about plans for movement of personnel and equipment/materials between multiple locations.
• Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and collaboration to meet the demands of a rapidly changing environment.
• Work independently and as part of a larger team to achieve mission success in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working as a physical security officer or relevant job category in the IC.
• Experience working in a classified environment, preferably for an IC agency.
• Basic experience in understanding and applying security practices, concepts, and procedures.
• Maximum schedule flexibility and ability to work all days of the week potentially for extended hours as needed by this project.
• Own transportation and a valid U.S. driver's license.
• Excellent customer service and effective communication skills to a diverse group of stakeholders, both cleared and uncleared.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to handle changing requirements.

Desired Skills

• Experience working with large scale facilities moves or renovations requiring monitoring/directing uncleared personnel in classified facilities.
• Experience coordinating schedules/assignments of teams to multiple locations including transportation resources and assets.
• Experience working with compliance planning and documentation.

Security Clearance Requirement

An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.

Pay

Salary Range: $30.58 - $53.51

Schedule

This is a short-term temporary project that requires schedule flexibility.
