About the role

You will coordinate and recommend new policy, plans, and procedures designed to increase effectiveness and adequacy in response to emerging trends and matters of national security. You will identify and evaluate new and/or revised policy changes, trends, issues, and advise senior level officials on their impact. You will provide support to the command in the coordination and preparation of national disclosure policy inputs and responses to inquiries and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct security administrative duties to include providing support in the execution of Preliminary Inquiry Reports of security violations, processing Periodic Reviews, message traffic handling, E-Qip, and DISS database management.
  • Participate in the curricula development and delivery of Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA) material for instruction and briefings.
  • Prepare instructions and other material regarding a wide range of security programs, including SCI, Special Access Programs, polygraph, technology transfer, and/or security administration, in accordance with deadlines and assignments.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.

  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status.

The incumbent must obtain certification within 24 months of assuming the position and maintain it through renewal every two years.
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders, bend, twist and crawl along floor ways and under deck plates and equipment.
  • This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-12) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, such as:

  • Conducting physical, technical, and industrial security inspections and effectively applying requirements for the protection of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) assets.
  • Applying SCI personnel security principles and methods to process investigations and policy reviews.
  • Managing and maintaining SCI personnel and physical security databases.
  • Developing and administering SCI security training and briefings.
  • Demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality products and services with commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Effectively representing the organization to both internal and external customers with excellent written and oral communication skills.
