Security Specialist
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute
- Provides 24/7 security, makes rounds, monitors visitors, watches video cameras, ensures safety of the Unaccompanied Children, and completes end of shift reports
- Maintains safety and security of the building and grounds by monitoring additional activities, documenting incidents, and completing routine rounds
- Supports the professional image of the agency through interactions and appearance, and develops professional relationships with staff, volunteers, community members, and vendors
- Generates and submits written reports for fire drills, checks and locks facilities, and supports video surveillance and two-way radio systems
- Responds to and handles fire alarms and campus-wide emergencies, corrects and reports safety hazards, and coordinates with key staff or supervisors for larger hazards
- Participates in team meetings, administrative meetings, and other meetings as assigned, and completes required trainings
- Reports civil or criminal convictions and conducts background checks
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 2-5 years’ experience in safety, security, or the human service field
- Required safety & security credentials/certifications upon hire
- Good verbal, written, and oral communication skills; proficiency with Windows, MS Word, and Excel
- Valid PA driver’s license; ability to drive a car or van
- Fluency in Spanish and English (read, write, and speak)
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Ability to safely and successfully perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance
- Ability to stay awake for entire working shift
- Ability to verbally de-escalate children during a crisis situation
- Ability to climb stairs and perform other physical activities
- Quick physical response to a crisis situation

Pay Range
$17.50 per hour
