Security Specialist

About the role
This opening is for an unarmed Security Officer at a multi-warehouse distribution center for a large Midwest retailer. Multiple officers are on duty at a time. Duties may vary depending on the site.
Responsibilities
- Delivery Access Control – Check in/out semi-truck deliveries at the Guard House using computer software.
- Patrolling – Walk the interior and exterior of the various buildings on site, keeping an eye out for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
- Mobile Patrol – Drive the security vehicle around the site, patrolling parking lots and building exteriors.
- Warehouse Access Control – Ensure the client's employees complete their COVID health screenings. Provide next-step directions depending on results.
- Dispatching – Follow procedures in dispatching personnel for emergency and non-emergency response.
- Monitoring – Accurately and quickly utilize computer-aided software and monitor CCTV system using recording devices.

Current opening: Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, 4 PM – 12 AM
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
- Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
- Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record:
- Less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
- Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
- No other major violations in the last 3 years
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances and possibly up and down stairs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
