About the role
The Security Site Manager provides day-to-day leadership for security operations at a major Inter-Con contract in Mountain View. The position oversees approximately 4,000 security hours per week and a workforce of approximately 120 security officers across multiple shifts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Inter-Con point of contact for the client Security leadership and other designated client personnel at the service location.
- Provide general management and oversight of day-to-day security operations to ensure compliance with the Statement of Work, applicable client supplier standards, applicable internal policies and procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Lead approximately 120 security officers through shift supervisors and ensure consistent service delivery across a 24/7 operation.
- Manage approximately 4,000 weekly security hours, including staffing coverage, schedule administration, attendance, timekeeping, overtime control, and workforce readiness.
- Conduct regular post inspections and audits to evaluate supervisor and officer performance, identify gaps, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Ensure officers understand and fulfill assigned duties, post orders, site procedures, client expectations, and professional conduct requirements.
- Cook up close working relationships with the Account Manager and assigned client counterpart through regular meetings, operational updates, and timely escalation of issues.
- Cook up all requests for Inter-Con equipment and client equipment required for service delivery.
- Manage equipment tracking, audits, investigations, repairs, replacements, and accountability records.
- Provide and coordinate onboarding, site orientation, coaching, and required training for supervisors and security personnel.
- Ensure post orders and standard operating procedures are accurate, current, and maintained in accordance with the Statement of Work and site requirements.
- Draft and revise reports, client communications, post orders, standard operating procedures, and other operational documentation.
- Oversee investigations and administrative tasks as required, including fact-finding, documentation, follow-up, and escalation.
- Maintain key performance indicators, with particular focus on staffing health, overtime, operational compliance, and service quality.
- Respond to emergencies and operational escalations and remain accessible for after-hours support when needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in security, operations, military, law enforcement or a comparable service environment.
- Experience leading large teams and managing supervisors across multiple shifts is strongly preferred.
- Contract security experience preferred; candidates from other backgrounds will be considered when they demonstrate the leadership, judgment, and client-service skills required for the role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify operational issues, develop practical solutions, and follow through to resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to coach employees, hold teams accountable, and build a professional, service-oriented culture.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional emails, reports, post orders, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage scheduling, timekeeping, staffing, equipment, training, inspections, and administrative priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based productivity applications.
- California Guard Card preferred at hire. Candidates without a current Guard Card must be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred; training may be provided if not currently certified.
- Must project a professional image, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate effectively with clients, managers, supervisors, and security officers.
- Able to work on-site five days per week and remain available for urgent operational issues, nights, weekends, and emergency escalations as needed.
