About the role

Allied Universal is hiring Security Shift Supervisors to oversee a Commercial Building located in the Hudson Yards Area of Manhattan. Positions are part time with flexible days Monday–Sunday and available shifts including morning, afternoon, evening, and overnights. The Shift Supervisor will interact daily with the general public, the client, and staff while providing excellent customer service.

Pay

$38.67 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Provide direction and instruction to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties
  • Cross-train officers to make them more versatile and run the site efficiently
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Recommend physical security surveys and post orders
  • Recommend positive and negative personnel actions for those under direct supervision
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for assigned security officers
  • Ensure contract-required training and screening for security personnel have been met
  • Maintain overtime to minimum or to a predefined level designated by Allied Universal
  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting personnel and their job performance
  • Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment
  • Current and valid driver’s license
  • One or more of the following:
    • Associate’s degree or higher in any discipline
    • Service in the active-duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
    • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
  • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience
  • Minimum of two years verifiable work experience demonstrating:
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to maintain poise and self-control during emergency situations
    • Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders and composing reports
    • Effective oral and written communication skills

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Emergency Management Systems
  • FEMA Incident Command Certification: ICS 100, 200, 300
  • Working knowledge of EMS protocols, Medical First Responder or Emergency Medical Technician
