Security Shift Manager - Full Time (Caesars Palace LV)
About the role
The Security Shift Manager is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating all activities within their assigned shift, under the direction of the VP of Security or Director of Security. This role oversees the entire security function for the shift, including supervision of all Security Officers, establishing priorities, maintaining schedules, and ensuring adherence to work standards. The Security Shift Manager reports all security matters to leadership and manages daily security activities, personnel, lost and found property, reports, equipment, and supplies.

- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and uphold departmental policies and procedures as a role model for security staff.
- Foster a team-centered environment, promoting collaboration, positive work culture, and ethical behavior.
- Communicate clearly with staff, management, and the public through oral and written communication, including interpreting complex information and active listening.
- Assume authority during high-risk crises, demonstrating sound judgment, delegating responsibilities, and empowering associates to make decisions.
- Adapt to diverse values, cultures, and backgrounds while maintaining respect and building trust in difficult situations.
- Maintain high standards under pressure, inspect work for quality, and reinforce excellence as a priority.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a thorough knowledge of gaming and security procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 4 to 5 years of prior supervision experience preferred.
- 4 to 5 years of employment in a security-related field, law enforcement, public service, or military preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and possess a working knowledge of basic computer programs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must obtain a CCW (Carry Concealed Weapons) permit and successfully complete a Firearms Qualification Course.
- Must obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Card, Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), and a valid Nevada Driver’s License.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures (heat up to 115 degrees or cold as low as 10 degrees).
- Capability to physically restrain individuals when necessary.
- Remain calm and make rational decisions during crises or stressful situations involving guests or employees.
- Work independently and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, jumping, twisting, crouching, gripping, and carrying heavy loads.
- Lift and carry up to 60 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds.
- Ability to recall details of incidents and individuals, provide court testimony, and write detailed reports.
- Respond to visual and aural cues; must read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Tolerate environments with secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
- Pass physical and written testing at the Western Division Security Academy (covering Controlled Force, Defensive Tactics, Legal Issues, Handcuffing, Tactical Communications, Use of Force, Report Writing, Searching Subjects, Emergency Response, Ethics, and Expandable Baton) within the first 90 days of employment.
- Recertify through the Western Division Security Academy between years 2 and 3 of employment, meeting all physical, mental, and environmental demands.
