Security Screener

About the role

This is a PART‑TIME opportunity requiring availability for weekends and overnight shifts. The position is with Shields Point, staffing immediately to fill Security Screener roles at a controlled facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide access control to the controlled facility.
• Conduct personnel and package inspections as authorized by law and per General and Post Orders.
• Inspect visitors and JIATFS employees' baggage or other incoming material for compliance with Government security regulations.
• Escort uncleared personnel throughout the facility as needed.
• Operate a variety of security equipment including X‑Ray machines, mantraps/portals, walk‑through metal detectors (WRMD) or hand wands.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship (required per government contract).
• Armed officers must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to effectively interact with the general public, DoD personnel, and all ranks of military, civilians, and visitors.
• Capable of working alone for a minimum of 3 hours while monitoring personnel and providing exit screening.
• Ability to read and understand English to carry out printed rules, orders, instructions, and training materials.
• Command of written and spoken English for clear communication in person or via telephone/radio.
• Maintain a professional, tactful, and courteous demeanor under stressful situations.
• Ability to compose precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports as necessary in English.
• Eligibility for and subsequent issuance of a Department of Defense (DoD) Contractor Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must pass a pre‑employment background investigation.
• Must pass an annual physical examination.
• Must pass random drug screening.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (possible upgrade to TS/SCI).

Pay

• Base rate: $27.15 per hour.
• Health & Welfare (H & W): $5.50 per hour.
• Shift differential: $1.00 per hour.
• Effective August 1, 2027: pay increase to $28.78 per hour and H & W to $5.75 per hour.

Schedule

• Shifts are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
• Required to work weekends and overnight shifts.
• Available shifts: Saturdays and Sundays (with the noted pay increase effective August 1, 2027).
