Security - Public Safety Coordinator

GardaWorld Security Services is hiring a Public Safety Coordinator in Portland, Oregon. The role involves monitoring premises, conducting patrols, controlling access, responding to incidents, and working closely with the Portland Police Bureau.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the premises to ensure security.
• Conduct patrols to spot any suspicious activity.
• Control access points and verify identities.
• Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining security.
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property.
• Attempt to stop criminal conduct and street disorder.
• Walk the majority of the shift.
• Work closely with Portland Police Bureau to report criminal activities and avoid participation in arrests or investigations except in emergencies or when directed.
• Think quickly and engage in problem‑solving for community policing strategies.
• Maintain a daily log and file incident reports.
• Use radio communication with Shift Supervisors, Portland Police Bureau officers, and other public agencies as required.
• Abide by Oregon State law and Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification standards.
• Commit to further training beyond DPSST, including de‑escalation techniques, mental health crisis response, trauma‑informed care, and social service referrals if requested.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• High School Diploma or GED (documentation required).
• Pass an extensive screening process.
• First aid certification is an asset.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift.
• Security, military, or law enforcement experience.
• Must be over 21 years of age.

Pay

Competitive hourly wage of $28.90 per hour. DailyPay is available for GardaWorld employees.

Schedule

Flexible schedule; varies but guarantees 40 hours per week.
