Security Protection Officer part-time days (Baker City, OR)

• Tuesday: 7 am – 7 pm

About the role

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City, OR is hiring a Protection Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secured environment in disasters, fires, and/or bomb threats.
• Interact daily with the public regarding safety, visitor control, thefts, and any security problems that might arise.
• Confront strangers and either direct them to the proper area or escort them off the medical center campus.
• Conduct package inspection and check property leaving the facility for proper authorization.
• Report vulnerable situations, hazards, and/or equipment malfunctions to the proper department or persons for corrective action.
• Check employee and service personnel for proper I.D.
• Physically restrain a person with the amount of force necessary for the protection of all persons involved in a combative situation, when required.
• Operate motor vehicle, two-way radio, camera, and electronic surveillance equipment and demonstrate basic computer skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous security or military experience preferred but not required.
• Must obtain Private Security Certification in the State of Oregon within 30 days of hire.
• Must have active driving privileges. If, during the course of employment, driving privileges change or the colleague receives a driving citation, the colleague is required to notify their supervisor and/or HR.
