Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario, OR is seeking a Protection Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This is a part-time, non-benefited position with rotating 12-hour shifts on both days and nights.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous security or military experience preferred but not required.
- Must obtain Private Security Certification in the State of Oregon within 30 days of hire.
- Must have active driving privileges; any changes or citations must be reported to supervisor and/or HR.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a secured environment during disasters, fires, and/or bomb threats.
- Interact daily with the public regarding safety, visitor control, thefts, and security issues.
- Confront strangers and direct them to proper areas or escort them off the medical center campus.
- Conduct package inspections and verify authorization for property leaving the facility.
- Report vulnerable situations, hazards, and equipment malfunctions for corrective action.
- Check employee and service personnel for proper identification.
- Physically restrain individuals when necessary to protect patients, visitors, and staff.
- Operate motor vehicles, two-way radios, cameras, electronic surveillance equipment, and demonstrate basic computer skills.
