Security, Part-Time (Sat/Sun 6am-6pm)
Nature and Scope
Maintains building security by monitoring multiple electric gates via video system and coordinating entry/exit into the facility.
- Documents daily activity in a logbook.
- Documents incidents on appropriate company documentation.
- Escorts contractors, vendors, and visitors throughout the facility.
- Issues keys and maintains a log.
- Solves confrontation and employee issues as needed.
- Issues security badges, both temporary and permanent.
- Operates photo I.D. badge machine.
- Maintains video system and reviews tapes as requested.
- Interfaces with Facility Department to dispatch maintenance personnel.
- Maintains intrusion and fire alarm systems.
- Responds to alarms and medical emergencies as required.
- Completes all forms and notifies appropriate management as per SOPs and safety procedures.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a security position.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Valid and active NY State Security License.
- Valid first aid and adult CPR/AED certifications.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexible to work on multiple shifts and holidays.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice.
Physical Environment and Requirements
- Able to work at an interior post and an exterior Guard Booth post.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to sit and stand for extended durations.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
Pay and Schedule
The expected hourly rate for this role is $21.06 - $21.75. Actual compensation will be based on a number of factors including qualifications, education, knowledge, skills, and experience.
