Manages a shift and/or segment of guarding operations at multiple sites at the direction of line management. Supervises Field Supervisors and other security personnel. Performs inspections, ensures post orders are followed, coaches and trains personnel, and carries out administrative procedures in support of Branch operations.

Distinguishing Characteristics

Primary job function is the management of a segment of an office’s guarding operations. This role applies only to salaried positions performing essential functions with the authority to make independent choices, free from immediate supervision, in significant matters that affect the business, or to carry out closely related tasks at least 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a shift and/or segment of guarding operations at multiple sites, including supervision of subordinate officers and supervisory staff; ensures personnel deliver high-quality service.
  • Ensures service expectations are met through regular client contact; evaluates service quality, inspects posts, and initiates corrective action as necessary.
  • Meets with line management and/or client representatives for status updates, addressing actual or potential problems; supports client start-ups; provides input to security planning, assessments, and surveys; reviews and communicates post orders and changes.
  • Participates in and coordinates the orientation, training, development, and retention of staff; ensures respectful treatment of employees; coaches and disciplines as needed.
  • Maintains and submits payroll records and other employee/business information; reviews client and company reports for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintains a positive, professional environment in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; ensures staff compliance.
  • Coordinates with line management on scheduling, staffing, equipment, and record-keeping to ensure smooth service delivery; adjusts staffing and scheduling to meet client needs while controlling labor costs.
  • Provides input to company initiatives; assists in resolving legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.
  • Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature as required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a reliable means of communication (e.g., pager or phone).
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree and 1 year of experience in security operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Additional relevant experience can substitute for education on a one-year-of-experience-for-one-academic-year basis.

Working Conditions

  • Must pass company standards for background checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and sensitive/confidential information.
  • Regular use of a vehicle for duties.
  • Regular talking and hearing; occasional walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
  • On-call response to emergencies and incidents at all hours.
