Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and manage SOC staff, including analysts and engineers.
  • Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and promote professional development.
  • Foster collaboration within the team and with other departments.
  • Oversee detection, analysis, and response to security incidents.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans and crisis communication strategies.
  • Establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage SOC tools such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Evaluate and implement new security technologies to enhance SOC capabilities.
  • Track SOC performance metrics (KPIs/SLAs) and provide updates to senior management.
  • Prepare compliance reports and support audits.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls) and processes (e.g., incident management).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.
  • Leadership skills to drive team performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, preferably in a SOC environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Experience with incident response and threat management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to cybersecurity.

Pay

$115,000 - $130,000 / year
