About the role

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator is staffed 24/7 and is responsible for monitoring various security, communications, and fire/life safety systems. This role also serves as the primary point of contact between different departments and the security team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight of all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems within the designated region.
  • Proactively monitor all surveillance cameras and CCTV remote viewer programs.
  • Respond to and handle events and situations received over regular and emergency phones and intercoms.
  • Document routine and unusual events accurately, including shift reports, pass-down logs, incident reports, and incident report logs.
  • Maintain control of all equipment and keys in the Control Room, logging all signed out and returned items.
  • Complete “task work orders” for all reported maintenance needs.
  • Communicate with Shift Supervisor, Account Manager, and Security Director regarding complaints and unusual/critical events.
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management.
  • Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licenses may be required based on state and local laws.
  • Experience in military occupational specialties related to law enforcement, security, or support roles in combat zones.
  • Certified Public Safety Academy graduate (military or civilian).
  • Bachelor’s degree in protective services, business, or related field.
  • Associate’s degree in criminal justice with current or prior active military service.
  • Two years of work experience in public sector dispatch or emergency operations center.
  • Three years of private/corporate security experience.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licenses may be required based on state and local laws.
  • One or more of the following qualifications:
  • Active service in military branches.
  • Certified Public Safety Academy graduate (military or civilian).
  • Bachelor’s degree in protective services, business, or related field.
  • Associate’s degree in criminal justice with current or prior active military service.
  • Two years of work experience in public sector dispatch or emergency operations center.
  • Three years of private/corporate security experience.

Skills

  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications.
  • Teamwork and ability to multi-task.
