About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and respond to security-related concerns. Your visible presence and professional communication will help to deter incidents while supporting a welcoming experience for employees, visitors, and drivers. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor and control access to the facility, including verifying employee, visitor, contractor, and delivery driver credentials in accordance with site requirements.
- Maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and delivery records; issue and collect access credentials as authorized; and communicate access concerns to site leadership.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including unauthorized access attempts, delivery disputes, and operational disruptions.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Preferred ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
