Security Officer - Warehouse Access Control

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location in Santa Fe Springs, CA, you will help manage entry points, monitor access, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This part-time, driving position offers the opportunity to provide outstanding customer service while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the distribution location by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing authorized personnel to designated areas.
• Observe inbound and outbound traffic at gates, docks, and entry points; document deliveries, trailers, and access activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting unusual activity and escalating concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking locations, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
