About the role
As a Security Officer Access Credential Processing in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Utilities. You will manage entry points, verify badges and authorized access, monitor activity, and provide professional customer service to employees and visitors. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter security-related incidents while supporting daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor badges and access credentials, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site requirements.
- Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Assist with maintaining a professional, orderly environment by directing visitors, enforcing site entry requirements, and documenting security-related activities and incidents.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Pay
$18.30 - $19.30 / Hour
Schedule
- Day shift: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
- Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
