About the role
As a Security Officer Unarmed – Site Monitor in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and support a welcoming experience for employees, visitors, and drivers. You will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor and control access points for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel; verify credentials, maintain visitor records, and direct authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
- Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and irregularities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Requirements
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
