Security Officer Unarmed Patrol

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming experience for visitors and staff. You will use customer service and communication skills while documenting security-related activities using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a cultural institution.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, exhibits, public spaces, offices, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, communicate site policies professionally, and assist with directions, lost property, and general inquiries.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Document patrols, observations, incidents, and security-related concerns accurately and promptly.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Pay

$17.26 - $18.26 / Hour

Schedule

• Thursday: 12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
• Friday: 12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
• Saturday: 12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
• Sunday: 12:00 PM - 05:00 PM
